Giving Directions
場所を教える時に使うフレーズ

まっすぐ進んで。

Script: By the lockers
Let’s repeat!
The hallway is busy with students getting ready for class. Jake stands by a row of lockers, holding his schedule and looking a bit confused. He looks around, not sure where to go.
LILY
“Hey, Jake! You made it to day two.”
JAKE
“Yeah, barely. I’m having a hard time understanding these classroom numbers.”
LILY
“Let’s see… you’ve got science first period. L201. That’s the lab.”
JAKE
“Yeah… but where is that exactly? I went the wrong way just now, and the teacher said it’s on the other side of the building.”
LILY
“Ah, I see. Yeah, it can be confusing at first. But it’s not too bad. Go straight down this hallway, then turn right at the blue lockers.”
JAKE
“Okay… straight, then right at the blue lockers. Got it.”
LILY
“You know what, I’ll just walk with you. It’s easier that way.”
They walk side by side down the hallway. Lily points out rooms along the way.
LILY
“That’s the art room. If you’re into drawing, you’ll like it. And over there is the library. It’s hard to miss.”
JAKE
“This place is huge. It’s way bigger than my old school.”
LILY
“Yeah, I can imagine. You’ll get the hang of it soon. It’s actually not that complicated.
They reach a classroom with a small sign above the door: Laboratory.
LILY
“Here you go. You’ll be fine there. The teacher is nice… just don’t blow anything up.”
JAKE
“I’ll try not to. Thanks for walking with me.”
LILY
“Anytime. I’m just down the hall if you need anything.”
JAKE
“I’m really glad I bumped into you, Lily.”
LILY
“Same here. It was fun! Oh—by the way, what’s your schedule like?”
JAKE
“Here.”
LILY
“English Literature… okay… oh! We have math again together in third period!”
JAKE
“Nice. That makes this place a little less scary.”
LILY
“See you in a bit then, Jake!”
JAKE
“See you.”
Lily waves and walks off. Jake watches her for a second, then takes a deep breath and heads into the lab, looking just a little more confident than before.
台本：ロッカーのそばで
廊下は授業の準備をする生徒たちでにぎやかだ。
ジェイクはロッカーの並びのそばに立ち、時間割を手に持ちながら少し困ったような顔をしている。どこに行けばいいのか分からず、きょろきょろしている。
リリー
「やっほー、ジェイク！登校二日目、よくできました！」
ジェイク
「うん、かろうじて。教室の番号が全然分からなくってさ。」
リリー
「見せて…最初の授業は理科だね。L201って書いてあるのは実験室だよ。」
ジェイク
「そう、でも…それって一体どこ？さっき逆方向に行っちゃって、先生に“建物の反対側だよ”って言われちゃった。」
リリー
「ああ、なるほど。最初はややこしいよね。でもそんなに難しくないよ。まずこの廊下をまっすぐ行って、青いロッカーのところで右に曲がるの。」
ジェイク
「なるほど…まっすぐ行って、青いロッカーで右ね。了解。」
リリー
「やっぱり、一緒に行くよ。その方が簡単だよ。」
（二人は並んで廊下を歩き出す。リリーは途中で教室を指さして説明する。）
リリー
「あれが美術室。絵を描くのが好きならきっと気に入るよ。で、あっちが図書室。すぐに分かると思う。」
ジェイク
「この学校、すごく広いよね。僕の前の学校と比べるとかなり大きい。」
リリー
「そうだろうね～。でもすぐ分かるようになるよ。実はそんなに複雑じゃないから。」
（二人はドアの上に “Laboratory（実験室）” と書かれた小さな看板のある教室にたどり着く。）
リリー
「はい、着いたよ。先生も優しいし、大丈夫。…爆発とかさせたらダメだよ。><」
ジェイク
「気をつけるよ。一緒にきてくれてありがとう。」
リリー
「いつでもどうぞ！何かあったら、私は廊下のすぐ向こう側の教室にいるよ。」
ジェイク
「たまたまリリーに会って本当によかったよ～。」
リリー
「私も、楽しかったよ！あ、そうだ、ジェイクの時間割ってどんな感じ？」
ジェイク
「はい、これ。」
リリー
「英文学、なるほどね……おっ！3時間目、また数学一緒だね！」
ジェイク
「よかった！じゃあ、ちょっと安心だよ。」
リリー
「じゃ、またあとでね、ジェイク！」
ジェイク
「またね。」
（リリーは手を振って去っていく。ジェイクは少しの間彼女を見送り、大きく息を吸ってから、ほんの少しだけ自信を持ったように実験室へ入っていく。）

自分では正しいと思っていても、不自然な表現であったりすることがよくあります。
しっかりとアドバイスをもらって、使えるテンプレート表現をどんどん身につけていきましょう。
